Story of a submariner: Play of fate - Defense aspirants must read

story of a submariner: Play of fate

This is a story of an officer, told at Naval Selection Board, Vizag. I do not remember his name properly but his rank was commander. For the ease of story, I am assuming his name as Ajay, Cdr. Ajay. The story involved his friend Sucky and some other incidents till his successful career as a submariner, instructor and defense strategist. At the end there will be a question for defense aspirants asked by him, so try to read it till the end.

Ajay and Sukhy:

Ajay was a nerd in his schooling and was only concentrated in academics. His dad was a lawyer and mom was a homemaker. The only set of goals in his life included making shit loads of money, having a beautiful wife and settling down in United states. From the beginning Ajay was clear that the only way he can achieve that, was by cracking entrance to IIT.

Ajay had a Khalsa friend Sukhdev Singh AKA Sukhy. Sukhy was extremely disciplined and immensely passionate towards joining Army. He also was a big fan of Hollywood character Maverick from  the movie Top-Gun. Sukhy in the summer of Delhi use to go for a ride by wearing lather jacket just like Tom Cruise in Top-Gun. He also had developed six pack abs and biceps by his tough fitness regime.

Guys, having 6-pack abs in late 80's, early 90's was a macho thing.

The NDA Exam:

One evening, during the study holidays of the 12th grade, Sucky comes to Ajay's place and tells "Hey, Bugger! NDA ka form nikla hai, bhar dena" (hey Ajay NDA form is out fill it).

Ajay asks "Ye kya hota hain?" (what is it?)

Sukhy says "arre army ka hai saath mein jaathe, exam dene" and fills the form on behalf of Ajay and submits it.

Both of them write the exam in nearby center and clear it. Sukhdev does remaining procedures as well on behalf of Ajay and they get the call for SSB interview at Bengaluru.

The SSB:

The interview was scheduled from 19th August and the reporting was at MCO of KSR railway station, Bengaluru.

On 14th August Sukhy, comes to Ajay's home. "Hey, Bag Bharna start kiya ki nai?" (Have you started preparation and packing or not?)

Ajay told "Arre, mein nai Aaraha, army sabi mere bas ka bath nai hain. tum chale jana!" ( I am not in a mood to come, Army is  not my cup of tea, you go ahead)

Sukhy uses Ajay's weekness and influences him by saying "hey! Ajay Banglore Masth jaga hai! Khoob ladkia hote hai, train se jayenge akela Maza ayega chalo" ( Hey! Ajay Banglore is a fantastic place! you will get to see lot of girls and you will enjoy the journey too)

Ajay packs the bag and prepares himself thinking about girls all the way :-)

The D-day comes Ajay and Sukhdev report at MCO and five days flies by. Ajay enjoys those five days at SSB, as he had limited outdoor exposure before coming to Bengalore. On 23rd August. They both finish the SSB conference( last activity of SSB interview). There were 30 odd candidates. Ajays chest number was 24 and Sukhdev's was 26. All the candidates were made to stand with their bags, under a tree and officer in-charge was giving motivating lecture and started announcing chest numbers of recommended(selected) candidates.

A bus to take them back to railway station had come. Ajay was thinking about catching first seat in the bus, so that he gets a window seat of his choice. Ajay was fiddling with his bag and getting ready to board the bus. Suddenly officer in-charge shouts "chest number 24!, chest number 24!"

Sukhdev pats on Ajay "Hey Bugger! tum select ho gaye ho" ( hey Ajay! you are selected).

Unfortunately that day chest number 26 was not called and Sukhy sadly went back. Ajay was in dilemma and was thinking "is this for real? "

Sukhdev really went on to sad mode. Sukhy felt like he was cheated!

Destiny of young boys:

Anyhow days went by Sukhdev left his dream and joined a local engineering college as he did not have any backup plans. Ajay joined NDA. As both of them were in different boats which they did not desire, they struggled. Struggled  a lot.  Ajay struggled to cope up with physical fitness challenges and Sucky had to sit for long, to study.

Days went by, now Ajay is commander Ajay, a submariner, a strategist , a researcher. With number of decorations commander Ajay is doing well off in his career in Indian Navy. On the other side Sukhdev has his own investment firm, home, number of cars and a beautiful wife right in the city of New York

The moment of surprise:

One day, Ajay was coming back from his 45 days submarine sail at sea. He was in blue Dangri, stinking, sweating, extremely tired and had not taken bath for last few days. As he enters hall of his home, he sees a well suited Khalsa man having tea. They both were dumb struck for a while, then came back to reality.

It was evening at 1600 hrs, Ajay tells "Hey Sukhdev, Nahake aata hu" (Hey Sukhdev, I will take bath and come back).

They sat in the sea facing balcony at 1700 hrs sipping drinks and munching on snacks. Talks went on till 2330 hrs. Ajay's wife call both of them for dinner.

At the end of the talk they realize, they both are living each others dreams, exchanged!

Sukhy says " hey bugger! you are living my dream-life and I am jealous of you for that"

Commander Ajay replies "so you are sukhy! I am jealous of you too!"

Water fills up in both of their eyes and silence persists.

                                                       ***************************

The question asked by Commander Ajay to defence aspirants was

"On August 23rd,on the SSB conference day, did Sukadev loose something? Or Ajay gained something? Or both of them gained/lost anything?"

The same question goes for you, let us know your opinion in the comment section below.

Sewage system and water crisis in Indian cities

The other day I was traveling through city of Bengaluru by BMTC bus, suddenly I happen to see a big channel beside, parallel to the road. Initially I thought it’s just a water passage or something. After getting down I went to check it, yes it was a water stream but a stinky one. Yes it was a sewage water channel. And I even saw a heap of plastic in it, which was not only filthy looking but it was looking like a growing devil which had potential to choke the entire passage. Suddenly a thought struck me while major cities including Bengaluru are facing acute water crisis, why are we wasting huge amount of water mixed with sewage and let it flow into our valuable water bodies(lakes, ponds and even to river)?
Instead cant we reuse this generated gray water to clean up our vehicles or may be to feed our garden?

Sounds simple right? But it is not, this simple matter has made a so much ruckus in the city.
After going back to home 'curious me' went to search about these huge sewages around the city. As expected I came to know so many astonishing facts about our poor sewage/water management.

Here I have tried to put those facts and ways of better management of it below.

Water source to Bengaluru: The capital city Bangalore nicknamed as garden city.

It actually had gardens and city full of lakes. Before urbanization of the city it had more than 500 lakes. As the city started filling up with buildings; the industries started budding and ultimately the farms, gardens and lakes started to vanish. Well unfortunately the city is not longer a garden city anymore.

In early 90s the Bangalore had more than 500 lakes. Those were potential sources of water of people. Now most of the lakes have either drained or filled to build the city, and the count it has gone down to only 17 good lakes (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lakes_in_Bangalore)
. Once with self sufficient lakes and ground water level the city was independent for its water supplies. But now it mainly takes water from Kaury River which is approximately 100 km s away from the city and urgent needs are fulfilled by sucking up the leftover ground water.

80 percent of this used water being converted as sewage and only 40 percent of the it is treated. Bangalore in total generates approximately 1400 MLD (million liters a day) of sewage a day if its 60 percent is untreated then the number would be 840 MLD well that is a huge number and more dangerously all of these untreated water, including chemicals from industries are contaminating our water bodies every single day. This number for whole Karnataka state is 2500 MLD.
This contamination is not only making the water sources inaccessible it is also contributing contamination of ground water surrounding city. In fact this whole process is one of the contributors towards city’s water crisis. This year Bangalore city was about to hit acute water crisis and in 2022 city is expected to witness zero day.
As we are near to the line of limit I strongly believe this is the high time to address this problem with higher priority. This is not only a story of Bangalore, over 21 major cities of our country including Bangalore are expected witness worst water crisis of all time in 2022 according to data. If we consider quality level of available water, it is not really drinkable state. Facts shows us, India is in 120th position in 122 countries as per as the water index is concerned.

Question for you, isn’t it a freaking factor that we are not actually recognizing it? Cant we come to a common solution by treating sewage and reusing it?

______________________________________________________________________________
zero day is a term used in cape town south Africa to explain zero ground water level and apocalyptic stress among citizen of it.

This very same situation is expected to occur in 21 major cities including Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai.
_______________________________________________________________________________

Where does the sewage come from and go? is it a serious issue?

The sewage mainly consists of used water mainly domestically. If the sewage used is in the kitchen and washbasin, obviously, it will have less of suspended partial and it will be less polluted, such type of water is called as gray water.  The gray water will have larger scope of reuse with less efforts in treating it.  But only problem is that we don’t have proper STPs at societal level. And hence it is mixed with other sewage and it goes untreated.

____________________________________________________________________________

BASICS OF SEWAGE TREATMENT (IN INDIA):

Sewage is basically used water with suspended waste materials in it. To make the sewage completely reusable we have to treat it in three stages those are primary, secondary and tertiary. In primary treatments the floating debris and floating materials are removed with meshed and other filters and this allowed for sedimentation of some waste materials. This makes a consistent watery  feed for secondary treatment where anaerobic microorganisms are added which helps in digesting organic materials in the waste water. This microorganisms are later removed with addition of chlorine to the water. This secondary treated water is  now eligible for non-potable purposes like toilet-flushing and gardening.

Tertiary treatment involves more advanced processes like reverse osmosis (RO) and de-mineralisation. Dissolved solids and nutrients get further removed during these processes. Depending on the grade of tertiary treatment, recycled water can be used for drinking, as coolant in industries, or in precision industries like electronics.

The most common sewage treatment method used in India is Activated Sludge Process (ASP), which had been invented in England over a century ago. ASP mainly reduces BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand), fecal coli-form level, turbidity etc. Extended Aeration, Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) and Up-flow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket Reactor (UASB) are some other conventional treatment technologies. These are mostly variations of ASP itself.
______________________________________________________________________________

As above mentioned in Bangaluru generates total of 1400 million liters of sewage every day and 60 percentage of it is untreated. This untreated water eventually gets drains out in lakes, rivers and other water bodies around the city. Main of such water bodies are Vrasabavati river(AKA Kengeri Mori), Ballandur lake and Varthur lakes which are well known for the hazards which we have created and high pollution levels of it. In past these water bodies have also made into headlines because of fire incidents(by bio gas generated in it) and clouds and foam formation and death of floura and founa around it.

______________________________________________________________________

Currently, Bangalore generates 1400 MLD wastewater, as per BWSSB’s conservative estimates. The city has total treatment capacity of 721 MLD, but only 520 MLD gets treated on average. Here is a map of the existing and proposed STPs by BWSSB/BBMP in Bangalore.

Below is a list of existing STPs operating in the city:

_____________________________________________________________________

Every year we see videos of froth filled Bellandur lake flashing in the news. You also must have seen incidents of lake water catching fire. People/residents surrounding lake goes to strike, it hardly affects government, BBMP or local corporator for that matter. The fact is that we do not have enough STPs around the city those are there are not effective enough to handle the flood of sewage. We all see the today's state of the river Vrshabavati, we it is known as Kengeri Mori.

How can we solve it together?

1)Government is being ignorant that is Crystal clear. Now it is left to us, we have to work together and set up small secondary STP s at societal levels such that we can reuse the water in non portable forms such as gardening and flushes. This problem was earlier tried to solve and addressed to. it was also made a law to set up mini STPs in societies and apartments, but people started to retaliate by calling strikes to oppose it. After seeing this one thing is clear that the problem is not only a economical problem it’s a social+economical problem.

It is not only an economical problem it is a socio-economical problem.

2)Gray water and its cleaning:
Having small filters, STPs built in at house level and atleast treating the water in primary level will have its own benefits.

3)Bringing behavioral change:
As it is socio-economical problem, Bringing behavioral change in the society by star campaigners, celebs and politicians will have impact. As saving lakes and sewage as important as other problems its just underrated. AND giving proper awareness and educating people is much needed.

4)Floating treatment wetlands (FTW) and other modern techniques will help to solve it. state governments can collaborate or seek suggestions from other state, if they are doing progressively good work.

5)Working together: As most of our city's problems are not yet solved by miscommunication and lack of cooperation between different government organizations, working on problems closely and together will definitely give solution to it.

6)Planting, Rain water harvesting and less water usage are conventional methods by which the water can be conserved and used to recharge the groundwater level.

Chennai is first one to make a mandatory law for rainwater harvesting but its has not been implemented properly.

Bottom-line:

The fact is: we all know that, It is a haunting problem like every other environmental problems. It is a high time to address it but unfortunately the government and citizen are being ignorant about the severity.

All about screening process in SSB

We all know whole SSB selection process is conducted in two stages followed by medical examination. In this blog lets understand why stage 1 is conducted; what all are conducted in stage-1; as stage 1 is also called as screening you can expect the words to be used alternatively.

Why stage-1/screening?

Screening is the process of filtering started in late 90s. It is done only with a purpose of filtering down the reportees number to the capacity of the stay at the centers. It is also done to gauze the competence of the candidate. after all there is no point in testing an incompetent candidate.

What does screening(stage -1) in SSB consists of?

The screening process in the SSB consists of two tests in it. One, OIR(officers intelligence rating), second, PPDT(picture perception and discussion test)

OIR(Officer's Intelligence Rating):

This is a basic intelligence test consisting of two sets of papers namely verbal and non-verbal. number of questions may vary from 30 to 50 in each set and the time is kept accordingly. in general you will get 30 sec. to solve each question. As the level of questions are fairly easy anyone with average IQ and fair practice can solve all the questions. Before the test, interviewer/invigilator will explain the type of questions, mode of answers etc. so do not worry much. Pay attention and exercise your logical brain before hand with daily practice.

From where can I prepare for OIR?

Well for SSB OIR, Indiabix is the right place to practice online.
Some books: R.S.Agarwal, OIR e-books from SSBCRACK, AFCAT books from Arihant

What are they testing by OIR?

OIR is just a test of basic intelligence. By OIR they are testing how fast one can solve logical problems.

As there are no negative marks try to answer as many as you can; If you are unable to answer certain questions guess it. It is essential to score at-least 80% in the OIR to be in safer side.

PP&DT (Picture Perception and Discussion Test):

In this test basically a picture is shown for 30 secs., you will have to write a story around the picture and discuss with the group of 10 to 20 candidates and come to a common consensus. details of the conduct are given below.

1)All the candidates are made to sit in the testing hall; and given with instructions.

2)Answer sheet will be distributed and a black and white picture will be shown for 30 secs. The show picture will be deliberately blur.

3)One minute will be given to note down the characters and to write the action of the story.(you can see this in sample paper given below)

4)Then approximately 4 minutes will be given to write the story. the part of instruction given for the story writing is;

"write a story of 70 to 100 words; let free your thoughts; keep in mind to express the feeling, emotions and thoughts as free as possible without paying attention to the beauty of the expression; The story should contain what lead to to the situation, what is currently happening what is most likely outcome";
Some facts while writing the story on answer sheet given:
In the answer sheet given, there will be a rectangular box given in the top corner of left hand side. there you need to encircle the spot of the character which you have seen first; inside the circle you are suppose to mark the gender of the character( M- male, F-female, P-person/gender cant be determined), age of that character and mood of the character. If you see more than one characters mark them with dot or cross. You are also expected to write the action visible in the picture. For better understanding, go to sample sheet given at the end of the blog.

5)after writing down the story the sheets will be collected back; and generally there will be break of 15 to 30 minutes before the discussion; (you will be advised not to discuss the story among others)

6) Now the discussion part; for discussion candidates are split in to group of 10 to 20 (based on number of reportees) and made to sit in semicircular fashion according to chest numbers.

7)After candidates are made to sit in-front of assessors general instructions will be given. This part of test consists of two sub-parts story narration and discussion;

Story narration: candidates have to narrate their story in crisp, one after other within 1 minute.

Discussion: Once the last person finishes the narration; the discussion to form common story starts. I am re-stating  Once the last person finishes the narration; immediately the discussion to form common story starts.

Note: be ready for heated discussion.

The three assessors sitting, will be 1)GTO(group testing officer), 2)IO(interviewing officer), 3)Psychologist. The maximum chunk of the evaluation will be done while narration, while narration Psyc. officer will judge format of the story( he checks, is the story practical/sensible). while IO check the way candidate narrated the story( he check has the candidate narrated the story confidently, is the story understandable, is the English/ language used is fair). While GTO tests the group behavior during discussion.

A sample picture and story is given below:

SAMPLE OF ANSWER SHEET

SSB: GPE (Group planning exercise); a main testing tool of GTO

Group Planning Exercise(GPE) or sometimes called Military Planning Exercise(MPE) is one of the early group tests done at the SSB procedure. It is generally conducted on day 3 of 5 days SSB procedure. GPE consists of solving and discussing multiple real life problems given in the form of story; The process/conduct of GPE is given as below

1) The group of 10 candidates are made to sit in-front of a wooden model( map of a town/village will be drawn on a wooden board).

2) Group testing officer will explain the map in detail and he also narrate the problem story.

3) later group will be given the story card and 5 minutes to read the story again and relate it with the map given.

4)you will be given with the blank paper and time to write your individual solution.

5) then 15 mins of time is given to the group to discuss the plan and come to a common plan.

6) Group has to nominate a person to narrate the common story.

How to write GPE solution : General approach

while solving any bunch of problems, we need to consider below constraints;

1) Problems with priority:

we need to identify number of problems and list them according to severity.

example: imagine there are two problems where one of the guy is profoundly bleeding and second one is a cattle is missing; it is obvious that injured guy needs first and immediate attention.

2)Time constraint:

This factor is kinda inter-coiled with first one and this helps in prioritizing the tasks/problems; In the problem story generally time constraints will be given.

for example; a bomb is planted and it is expected to explode at 1500hrs etc.

3)Resources:

To solve any of the problems we will have some or the other kind of resources; some of them will be directly given and some of them we will have to assume sensibly.

ALL THE ABOVE WILL MAKE SENSE ONCE YOU SEE THE SAMPLE PROBLEM GIVEN AT THE END.

Solutions:

Based on above three factors we need to make an effective/ sensible solution to various problems in our way. generally the GTO says the number of people in the story are equal to number of candidates in the group present there at GT. The number of people in the group in generally will be 10.

Split the group effectively and then solve the problems one by one. Make sure the end primary goal in mind.

A sample GPE and solution is given below refer to it write your own solution and compare with the sample solution.

SSB: 8 Fitness tips to working candidates

Are you a working personal with a formal job and trying to get into armed forces as an officer?,
No time to hit to the gym?

We all know that fitness plays an important role in SSB interview;

Here are simple 7 hacks to control your weight as you want and kick your fitness level to the sky. For better understanding of yours the hacks/tips have been divided into two parts,
Those are,

  1.   Habitual alteration
  2.    Alterations in diet

HABITUAL ALTERATIONS:

  •  Take stairs: If your workplace is in upstairs and you use escalator/lift regularly use stairs instead which helps in burning calorie. This might be difficult to follow initially, in that case try taking at least two trips a day via stairs then eventually you will get habituated.

  • Take periodic breaks in between: If you work in such an environment where you have to work for hours by sitting in front of screen continuously, then you have to consider taking break at least once in 45 minutes and stretch-out a bit. In that particular break try to catch couple of deep breaths and walk around or use that as water break walk to water point.

  •  Correct your sitting posture: I know most of us sloth while sitting on chairs (we are kind of slothers by birth). Are you aware of the fact that our sitting posture also adds up to our bad body shape?                                                                                                                                    Yes, It does matter how do you sit while you work or any time, So try to correct your sitting posture and sit upright while working.

  •  Just find a reason to walk: As mentioned earlier walk as much as you can or just find a reason to walk. For example imagine you have to go for groceries to nearby super market instead of taking vehicle choose to walk to market.

DIET ALTERATIONS:

  •   Drink lots of water: We know that around 70% of our body is made up of water and it is essential. Drinking a lot of water could trigger your fat burning process, adding lime and honey to it will boast it even more.

  • Keep meals short and split it if possible: we generally have the tendency to grab lots of food in our regular meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and have nothing in between them. Scientifically it’s an unhealthy practice.                                                                                           Then what is right practice?                                                                                                                    It’s a good practice to split your meal into chunks and munch healthy bits every now and then. (Munching means not having unhealthy snacks) by this our brain will be programmed in such a way that subconsciously it keeps a count saying ‘‘okay..!! I think body is getting food on time lets stop storing it’’ and burns extra fat stored (it’s important to mention here, that skipping meals or fasting irregularly is a bad practice).

  •  Try to avoid junk/processed food: In current fast moving world we tend to have processed, easy grab able and fast foods. These processed foods contribute a lot in our unfit body. So it is no good to have junk/processed food.

  •      Be calorie deficit if you are overweight: If you are reading this article so far means I presume that either obese or feared of becoming so. Most of our regular food will be rich in starch and it’s common to lean towards extra greasy/extra spicy food which will eventually contribute in storing fat if it is excess than limit. So make a promise to yourself to stop eating even though you are craving to eat or make a rule for yourself saying ‘‘okay, today I’ll eat, but I’ll will not touch specific food for minimum of 10 days’’

ONE BONUS TIP:

  •    Be consistent:  Everyone knows that they want to be fit/stay fit and ways to be is also known, but no one wants to work for that. I know it’s THE most difficult part to be consistent but there is a hack, psychologists have stated that it takes only 21 days to convert anything into a habit. So what are you waiting for? Give it a shot..!!

Bottom line:

The above tips are workable but we all know that military standards are high and after selection we are expected to go through tough training. So I would advise you to go for a run every day morning at-least for half an hour.

Global warming - lecturette SSB

As the name suggests 'Global warming is increase in temperature of earth atmosphere'. There are many contrary views on concepts of global warming and there are bunch of leaders who state it; as a misconception. anyways with a belief of global warming as a threat; lets discuss causes, effects and simple possible solutions.

Causes:

Global warming is caused by multiplication of so many things. There are natural causes such as volcanic eruptions are also there . If we have to list top three man made causes which rapidly increases the pace of global warming are given below.

1)Increased pollution level and emission of green house gases:

The top contributor to the global warming is emission of green house gases. The emission could be by vehicles, industries or even by burning of waste products. The produced gases mainly does two things; one, it multiples the green house effect and second, these emitted gas being heavy gases it absorbs the heat and acts as heat storage.

2) Deforestation:

We all know the deforestation in India is  alarmingly at higher rate. This adds into global warming by cutting recycling of carbon-dioxide (CO2).

3) Depletion of Ozone layer:

The CFC and other gases produced by refrigerators, ACs and other machines will disintegrate Ozone, creating patches in the ozone layer. This lead to harmful and intense radiations to penetrate into earth's atmosphere.

Effects of Global warming:

1) Unusual patterns of seasons- hence crop loss:

Earlier days we use to have rain in rainy season; cold breeze in winter and heat in summer. But due to global warming and other effects we could see unusual season patterns and hence loss of monsoon-dependent crops. this is major concern for agriculture dependent countries like India because agriculture here are heavily dependent on monsoon.

2) Melting of glaciers and habitat loss:

The global warming has direct effect on melting of ice/glaciers. This directly effect on the habitat of part of animal kingdom living in the glaciers.

3) Increased sea level:

The above point has direct relationship with this effect. The melting of glaciers; will increase the water; and hence the sea level will increase and hence many parts of the land will go under water. Scientists have predicted that it is a possibility that, major parts of Mumbai and other coastal cities are going to disappear in coming years.

How can we control it?

Like the solutions to all the other problems; we should either curb the causes to control the adverse effects or to find a alternative to balance the cause. Below are couple of straight forward and simple solutions.

1)Controlling pollution:

As we know that vehicles and burning of fossil fuels are largest contributors of pollution; as a solution, lets cut that part out; lets use public transports as much as we can; lets switch off the lights fans and other equipments, whenever we are not using; lets move together towards reliable sources of energy such as solar, wind and tidal energies.

2)Cultivate greenery:

It is evident that the deforestation is direct cause of global warming; In simple words, there are two things which we can do; one lets stop cutting forest and two lets plant more trees and take care of them.

Bottom-line:

The bottom line is that, global warming is real and its high time to protect our planet. Even though capitalist leaders like Trump do not agree on the effects of global warming; the evidences are visible and its high time.

Crime against women- lecturette SSB

I personally believe this is one of the topics/issues which is less addressed or not at all address as far as the root cause of the problem is concerned; I seriously do not understand why are we still stuck in petrochemical mind set and not giving women equal opportunity.

gentlemen and ladies; today with this blog we will discuss the simple solutions to pluck the crimes against women from root. In our Indian society the patriarchy is so deeply ingrained and most of the population still think men are meant for outside work and women are often considered as fragile and limited to household works. By this, there is increased exploitation and crime against women. There are many flaws in our society/country, such as slow judiciary, seedless security and poor infrastructure which multiply the possibility of misbehavior to happen. Solving these multipliers will not prevent crimes to happen until and unless we address the root of the problem.

There are 3 root solutions by addressing which we can prevent crime against women to happen.

1)Women empowerment:

I consider this is the root solution to many problems including women safety and gender inequality in India. Even though we see women in every field including parliament, administration and even in defense but as far as number is considered, we are not there at 50%. we still lack behind giving equal opportunity and adequate education to girls. I believe if we make these needful, women safety and gender equality are just byproducts of that.

2)Bringing change in mentality of the society:

As I mentioned earlier we, Indians are still stuck in petrochemical social thoughts, By which disrespect towards women is still lurking in the thoughts of people. To solve this we need to change the mentality of the society from young age. Its right time to teach our children to respect each other, especially to boys to respect little ladies around them. :-) By which we ingrain values such as equality, respect and gratitude etc.

3) Creating such a supportive environment:

We need to create such a supportive environment or work space where no one wither its a male, female or 3rd gender person should not hesitate from speaking up about crime against them or bad phase that they had gone through.

Bottom line:

My only concern is, why do we need one of the Nirbhaya, Unnao or recent Hatras case to happen to speak about the major problem? Why can't we start talking/discussing about solutions? why cant we start educating the society from grass root level? I mean the daily exploitation, domestic violence and work-space embarrassments occur on daily basis. why our eye are shut towards it?

Think over it! thanks!
